Meet our CEO:
Candera Thompson

Bask & Bloom Essentials was created & founded by Bahamian native, Candera Thompson.

What was the inspiration behind creating your natural beauty brand?

I experienced severe postpartum hair loss and shedding after my first daughter was born and was on a quest to get my hair healthy again.  The women in many of the natural hair Facebook groups I was in talked about going through the same issue of hair breakage, hair loss, etc. due to health and hormonal changes. We were exchanging DIY recipes that helped and all of them contained some sort of ayurvedic herbs. I decided that I wanted a line catered to bouncing back & maintaining healthy natural hair using the ingredients that helped me and many others.

Over a period of two years, I began researching and developing my line with the goal of providing healthier ingredients and eliminating common toxins. My first two products, More Moisture Cream and Herbal Infused Hair & Scalp Oil were created  and today, we offer a full line of products containing ayurvedic herbs and other herbal extract that promote healthy hair and length retention.

Now as a mother of 3 and have suffered postpartum shedding and hair loss all three times, my motivation is to continue to shed light on this topic, and offer innovative solutions for healthy hair care.

Why did you choose the name Bask & Bloom Essentials?

The name Bask & Bloom holds true to what I seek to achieve with every customer using our products, radiant (Bask) and healthy, flourishing hair (Bloom). It speaks the language to our core audience which are moms who gave birth, and are having a hard time finding solutions to bring their hair back to life.  It also pays homage to my island upbringing, where the beautiful turquoise waters and sunsets were a constant reminder to take a deep breath and relax.
